Reflect & Rejoice Guide 2018-2019

It’s that time of year again, the ending of one chapter and the beginning of another. The looking back and the looking ahead. The dreaming of what could be in the new year. I love the idea of starting off a new year, but I’m hit or miss with goals. One year I’m all in, overeager, ready to change the entire world starting with myself. The next year I’m all out, off-put by ambition and deeply offended at the notion that something in my life could use a little change. Some years I feel last minute collective peer pressure, usually from people I don’t actually know on social media, (because I’m a grown adult and have naturally matured from succumbing to online and societal trends) and will cough up a few last minute genius resolutions like: “I should probably lose a little weight this year” or “read Bible more”.

As a chronic procrastinator I’ll probably figure out how I feel about 2019 goal setting around dinner time on New Year’s Eve.

Regardless of where you stand on resolutions and goal setting, we can all benefit  from pausing to reflect on what God has done in our lives over the past year. We look back and remember his faithfulness so that we can look ahead and move forward in hopeful expectation that he will continue see us through.

This guide invites you to consider the year that is coming to an end, recall the faithfulness of the Lord, rejoice at his provision, and look ahead to the coming year with eager expectation to know him more intimately.

I hope you enjoy it. Happy 2019!
